4. Lighting Technique – Photography for Dummies

Stuff.
Most people probably do not have the money for a big studio lighting setup, flash is an easy alternative. Lighting is one of the most important part in preparing the drawings. And this is why photographers often have a remarkable way of lighting their subjects. Flash is a built in camera often causes red eyes, this is why camera makers make their resurrected. The camera flash on-board you can pop up, and saw a real coo ‘, but personally, I try to never actually use it. Red eye is caused by light from the flash, bounces from subject to subject, and will soon return to the lens. This can be avoided by having the flash that is placed in another place that will bounce light from the lens. Also, the onboard flash causes hard shadows, and can limit creativity. An external flash costs around 200-800 dollars. I recommend 300 dollar one for amateur photographers. Benefits of external flash is that they can be controlled and disseminated so that they do not create harsh shadows, and they can make certain areas of the image light, and other areas of darkness. This opens great opportunities to really take full control of the lighting of your image.
When you will use your flash, try to use a diffuser to avoid harsh shadows (unless of course the desired image of coarse). Alternatives for the diffuser is to bounce flash off a wall or ceiling nearby. To do this, simply point the flash toward the wall, and make it reflect back to your subject.
To light the image is to use natural lighting. This probably means the sun, or just the lights in the room. The ability to take great pictures using only natural lighting is a real asset to photographers. With fewer and fewer photographers must rely on external light sources, the better. In this picture I took advantage of a passing car lights to turn on this bench. No flash used at all. One of the best examples from my personal seize the opportunity for good natural lighting. Remember, when using natural lighting, try to avoid lens flare.

One of the different angles of light can change the overall picture. When you are in the scene, trying to lure a different camera, or waiting for the sun shifts, because these changes can only change their mood and color photos.

There are some more technical when it comes to lighting, and honestly, I can do the whole instructable on the lighting itself, but to reduce the basics, and do not drone on forever, I tried to choose to share only the basics of pure illumination.
