Olympus Pen E-PL1 Review-part1
ADVERTISEOlympus Pen E-PL1 is packaging most of the functionality of PEN 12.3-megapixel E-P2 but with a very cheap price and is built with mainstream consumer photographers in mind, we have been putting limits the ability to comparison review, namely:
1. Having a small preview screen 2.7-inch 3-inch versus the E-P2, a slower shutter speed of 1 / 2000 vs. 1/4000s, maximum speed is slower 1/160s flash sync vs. 1 / 180, 3-stop image stabilization whereby versus fourth stop’s E-P2-class consumers and plastic chassis instead of aluminum with stainless steel construction.
2. Highly integrated microphone records mono sound rather than stereo, and a single dial control crowding and not two.
3. Reduced the maximum ISO setting of ISO 6400 to ISO 3200.Physically, whereas PL1 E-certainly not have hand-feel of a metal-bodied brother, it feels anything but cheap.
4. Build quality is high, so we calculate that it is not like most point and shoots can withstand a drop of PEN budget without undue damage.
5. Keys are created quickly and the handle design is generally very well built, with the main dial mode has a strong spring-tensioned feel for it, you need to grip it firmly and twist hard, that we are actually far more than what you find on-DSLR entry.
6. Batteries can be opened and closed with a snap clear, neatly done even if the battery cheaper construction material itself is a rechargeable unit as BLS-1 Lithium-ion as in the previous PEN. A depleted battery is less than three hours to fill, and then lasted for three days we were shooting a short film and still images while recently included Qualcomm mobile Uplinq 2010 conference.
